Recente Studio

Japanese. Rebellious. Curated.

Recente

Recènte (arch. ricènte), adj. [from Latin recens -entis]: something that occurred, was made, or came into being a short time ago. Recent means new, current, contemporary, and that's where our name comes from.

The Beginning

We wanted a place where our creativity had space: somewhere to research, to study, to find our own voice. We found it in Japanese designers, rebellion, freedom, construction. We wanted our archive to reflect who we are, and their refusal to follow trends is exactly why their pieces remain timeless. That's how Recente Studio was born: a fashion archive built to connect present and past, and to bridge the gap between a new generation and the deeper meaning of getting dressed.

Direction, Not Trends

We don't really believe in trends; we prefer to talk about direction. Today it's hard to create something completely new, we look back at past collections and rework their details. Finding a vintage piece and comparing it to a new one is what excites us most: connecting the thread, rebuilding the story. And with vintage, you're likely the only person who will ever own that piece. It's personal.

Our Own Pace

We march to the beat of our own drum, rejecting the fast pace of fashion to build our own ecosystem, where a thoughtfully curated collection matters more than any fleeting trend. Every garment we choose carries a story rooted in culture. A piece earns its place in our archive when it has something to say: a detail that sets it apart, a cut, a button, a pocket you don't notice at first, a quiet echo of a later collection that closes the circle. Often, the simplest pieces are the most special.

Beauty in Imperfection

Inspired by the philosophy of wabi-sabi, we celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Every piece goes through a careful sanitization process, checked by hand, and carries the marks of its journey, proof of its authenticity. Every imperfection is a stroke of serendipity, part of what gives a garment its character.

A Sustainable Future

Choosing a piece from our archive means joining us in redefining fashion, and contributing to a more sustainable future. Our commitment goes beyond the garments themselves: our packaging is completely eco-friendly too. Together, we weave a world where imperfection becomes part of the story.

Packaging — TIED

Furoshiki

At Recente, our packaging is a reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese furoshiki: handmade, biodegradable, and made to be reused.

We believe that receiving the package should be as intentional as the piece itself.
